Laren had a great time at her science fair last night. She did not win but had a lot of fun putting her project together and learned alot so that is just as good! I guess you can't win every year! haha

Her project was: Question: "Does the shape of an ice cube affect how fast it melts"...She found out by doing the experiment that it is not so much the shape but the surface area that is the determining factor. She had the same volume of water in each container, had to figure the total surface area of each one, and her hypothesis was correct...the cube with the largest surface area melted the fastest. =o)
This is the project that won the overall best entry...he fire tested all sorts of different kids pj's to see which fabric was more flammable...pretty cool. He is in 4th grade, in Laren's class.
