Our Memorial Day weekend was great! We first went up on Saturday to Patti & Julie's house in Chandler for the Holiday and also to celebrate the May birthdays in the family: Brent (19th), Patti (23rd), Cole (24th) & Cindy (25th)! We did the bbq thing and had some drinks and got caught up on everyone's lives! Shandi and Ric and Brenna also came with us so it was good to see everyone together again.
We had already hit the 100's but this weekend it actually decided to RAIN! The first measureable rainfall we'd had since February!! So, this day started off kind of cool and rainy but by the time we got there it was clear and very nice. The temp was mild but the pool was C O L D!! That didn't stop the girls tho! They stayed in the pool and spa all day! What fun! That evening it cooled off so we sat outside around a wonderful fire and talked for quite a while. It was very very nice.
With everyone together we had a perfect opportunity to grab a family photo! What a great looking family! Everyone looks wonderful!
On Monday we made the trip up the the cemetary where Dad is burried. It was good to go back after all these years, but also obviously very sad at the same time. This was Laren's very first time to ever go, so it was especially sad for her too. It was a very sobering sight to see how much it has "filled up" since we were there last. The war is a great deal responsible for that I would imagine. We stayed for about an hour, just hanging out and talking about Dad and stuff. Then we made the trek home. It was a good day.
